With squad leading underway I have the privilege of spending the month visiting teams on the field, doing life with them, and investing into their lives on a deeper level. During my time with Team Committed and Team Strength in Variances I have had the opportunity to glean and harvest a field. One day while raking the field one of the women asked the question ” So how do you see Jesus in this?”
Honestly, it was hot outside and I wasn’t particularly interested in what I was doing so my answer was “I haven’t looked for Jesus in this so I will have to get back to you”.
I then stopped and looked at the field and said to the women that were with me “this is what Ruth was doing when Boaz noticed her, gleaning a field..umph, that’s how I see Jesus in this”. You have to know that I said that with a sassy, almost sarcastic, “she’s a better woman than me” tone.  Though I said it that way, something about that statement really made me think.
As the evening rolled around we had corporate worship and I just couldn’t press in. I searched my heart in the matter, and just felt lethargic on the inside. I closed my eyes and saw a vision of myself dancing and singing in the field we were gleaning in and The Lord gently nudged my heart and I was stirred to go out their with my iPod, my praise, my worship, and my dance. So after corporate worship I went outside and as soon as I stepped foot on the field something precious happened, my Boaz, my Kinsmen Redeemer met me in that field. I kicked my shoes off, sang until my voice was almost gone, and danced until I had 27 mosquito bites! I can’t remember a time thus far on the race where felt the power of His presence more tangible.
I indeed have been gleaning the field of Boaz!
