God can use chickens, a Hispanic person, a little boy
wearing a green shirt, and chained windows all to make Himself known to
someone. Don’t believe me? My team found this to be true on Thursday…

Matt Patch decided that we were going to do an ATL (no, we
didn’t go to Atlanta) that morning. This is a term thrown around here at AIM,
it just means Ask the Lord. Instead of simply studying the book of Acts, we
were going to go live it out. So we spent time asking the Lord to reveal what
He wanted us to do that morning. We spent time in prayer and listened,
expecting Him to reveal pictures, words, a location, whatever He wanted to
speak to us. And He gave us a lot of things that were seemingly unrelated.
Among them were
-a red sign
-a Hispanic person with whom we would be speaking
Spanish

-a boy wearing a green shirt

-the name William
chicken
-chained windows
-healing

We have done this before and seen and heard stories of the
Lord showing up in this way, but it took faith to believe that okay, we believe
that the Lord has given us these things to look for, but now we need to step
out and be led by Him to find them.

So we rode six-deep in Logan’s grandma mobile and cruised
down Atlanta Hwy. This area in Gainesville has a large Hispanic population. We call
it ‘Little Mexico.’ At first we stopped at a laundry mat and tried to talk to
some people, but we knew that  wasn’t it yet. Try, try again.

We got back in the car and suddenly, I see Williams St. We
passed it, but I knew the Lord wanted us to go back. So we made a U-turn and
headed down that street. Immediately we saw chickens in one of the yards and
chained windows on a lot of the houses. Then, Liz saw a little boy in a green
shirt!

So we all scrambled out of the car and walked down to the
house with the little boy. There was a Hispanic woman named Thomasa sitting on
the porch reading her bible. We introduced ourselves and I began conversation
in Spanish with she and her daughter, Rosario.

We each talked about God and the love of Christ we saw in
them and in how they love their families. Rosario asked us to pray for her son who needed healing for migraines. At one point Thomasa, with tears in
her eyes said in Spanish, I was reading and looking for God here (pointing to
her bible) but he came and found me (looking at us).

God can use chickens, barred windows, and little boys in
green shirts to speak to us. How crazy is it that God would reveal those things
to us and then send us there just so He can love on someone? That’s a pretty
crazy love if you ask me.
