“I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the Nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

Have you ever thought about why you are experiencing a certain situation or why you go through certain things or meet specific people along your path in life? I have. Numerous times. It’s always in hindsight that I understand the reason for what I went through & why and how that one person made a difference in my life (and there are still some things I don’t quite understand).

Chose: past tense of choose –  pick out or select (someone or something) as being the best or most appropriate of two or more alternatives

Digest that. The Lord selected you in this specific place in life for a reason. He desires so much to grow you and reveal Himself to you. He knows that you are adequate enough to make it through this situation. He sees you as uniquely suited, equipped and capable to carry out specific plans! He has a purpose for you. Always has. Please do not doubt that you are where you are at right now, for a reason.

Set Apart: to put in a particular place

Let that soak in. Before we came into the world He already knew where He wanted us. If you have ever had second thoughts as to whether you are making a difference in the world, stop! Because you are! Someone, somewhere needs you – in all of your uniqueness – to step up to your calling. Don’t miss the chance to be the one who makes a difference in another’s life. You are significant! Wait and listen for His calling; allow Him to use you.

   Appointed: decided on beforehand; designated

The Lord designates specific tasks to certain people. These tasks, no matter how unpleasant or undesirable they might sound, need to be accepted cheerfully. Trust that the Lord will guide you through it. He has planted you here with design and intention. If you feel you do not have a specific calling or assignment just seek to fulfill the common mission – to obey, love & serve God – until His guidance for you becomes more clear.

I pray that I would be reminded with each season in life that the Lord has me at that place in life for a reason. I pray that I would not become distracted with the things around me to where I don’t see how I can touch someone’s life and reach out. I pray that I would willingly accept His calling to specific tasks and do so with a cheerful attitude.

I desire so badly to be used by Him, no matter what that might look like. Whatever challenges I come across I can be confident in knowing the Lord made me who I am to accomplish the task(s) for a specific reason.
