A little over a month ago I left Mozambique to head to India I began asking God for some things I wanted in the next month and the months to come. As I learned more about what I was doing in India I added things to my prayer request.

I asked God for Starbucks iced coffee and for a window or aisle seat on every plane ride. I asked him for adventure and to fall in love with India. I asked him for a washing machine and a real shower. I asked him to give my team lots of time to have fun together. I asked him for peace, health, and protection. I asked him all sorts of things I wanted but didn’t necessarily need.

When I learned more about our ministry I asked him to keep my team in one place all month, and I asked him for ministry I loved but would stretch me. I asked him for a place of rest and of comfort.

I wasn’t surprised that all my prayers got answered. I was surprised by how much God lavished love his love on me with with all of his “yes, and this too” and how He even poured out His love with a handful of “no but this”.

Our pit stop on the way to the airport had Seattle Coffee company. Their iced coffee was actually a Frappaccino. I still got my Starbucks iced coffee at the Dehli airport because our domestic flight was leaving out of the international terminal!

I was assigned an aisle seat on each plane ride. But the ones I was most tired for Danny had a window. He traded me because he is tall and would be more comfortable in my seat. I ended up with a window to sleep on and Anna O who always sits next to me let me sleep through all the food!

We got to India, and two days in our host spontaneously set it up so we could ride in boats down the Barack River! To get to ministry we road in the back of huge trucks along “roads” through the jungle and over mountains. Tell me that’s not adventure! When we meet our contact for the month, he said he wanted to take us into the jungle to go spear and crab fishing among other fun things.

I fell in love with the people and the beauty of the country in the New Dehli airport. With each day my heart grew for India and the people we served.

We had a washing machine, and in Hmarkouline we had a real shower! My team had countless amazing talks around our little red table in Saiphai. I have a constant peace in this place, and I remained healthy and safe the entire month.

God answered those prayers with a yes, heaping his generosity and love on me. But his “no” he covered me in more love than I ever expected.

My team had to move from Hmarkouline. We traveled with three other teams to Saiphai (about a 5 hour drive) to hold a med camp. The camp was amazing. If you know me and my adverse reaction to all things medical and sick, then you know it stretched me way out of my comfort zone! God didn’t allow me to stay in Hmarkoulien because he knew it was better for me to be in Saiphai. There is such a peace and a love here that He wanted to show me. Tt is far better than what I would have experienced if I had stayed in one place.

My God is a God of answered prayers. He is a God who hears all that I tell him and ask him. He loves me better than I can imagine by giving me what I need before giving me what I want. My God loves me benevolently gives me what I want as well as what I need too.

God tells me he hears all my prayers. He tells me that if I ask, it will be given to me. He has proven that He wants to love in a generous way, and he wants me to ask for things I want. He says yes, and he says no but in both he hears, he answers, and he shows me love to the fullest.

I am a walking example that My God is a God of answered prayer.
