I’ve heard my dad and countless youth leaders challenge teenagers to be the type of people the devil trembles with fear and goes, “Oh sh**!” when they wake up. (Well, maybe they don’t say it that way.. but you get the picture.)
Ever since I first heard that- probably when I was seven- I wanted to be one of those people. But it was hard. I’d never seen someone burn for Christ so much that the devil would cower.
Well, now I have! Her name is ChaCha, and she is armed and dangerous!
I love her so much. She has become one of my best friends and is a huge inspiration. She’s got this mess of a head of hair. It’s gorgeous, thick, curly, and goes in all different directions. She’s beautiful and fierce – like nothing you would expect. And she’s always prepared to rage war.
She is dressed like a gladiator:
Sandals strapped on tight. Shins protected. Breastplate secure and in place. Her helmet, with red feathers announcing her arrival, covers her head. Her forearms are protected with leather, and she carries a shield in her left hand. However, what stands out the most is the shiny sword in her right hand. It looks like it would cut through steel. It is sharper than a two edged blade, and it makes the enemy shake in his boots.
Chacha may be dressed like a gladiator, but she isn’t one. She is a warrior. Gladiators wait to fight in the Coliseum, knowing they will eventually face their doom. ChaCha is warrior for Christ. She KNOWS the victory is already won!
She carries the Sword of the Spirit everywhere she goes. It’s always on her lips. She prays constantly and expects to hear from the Lord. She sends attacks on the spirit world and wages battle through her constant prayers.
Yep, when she wakes up in the morning the devil gets scared!
I am so grateful Chacha is on my squad and that I get the privilege of knowing her and learning how to become a warrior for Christ. I am excited to continue this journey with her and to see where the Lord takes us.
God has blessed me so much in the way of finances. I am fully funded, but Chacha is not. I want to help my friend stay on the race so she can keep teaching me and raging war throughout the world.
