I truly believe I am called into missions as a career. There are a lot of reason that I believe this. One of which being that God gave me a whole bunch of gifts and talents and skills and when you add them all up I’d be best suited for missions (this may be a stretch, but you catch my drift). God designed me to be really good at what he called me to do, but I didn’t realize how precise he was in my design until I signed up for the World Race.

I read blogs about packing for the World Race and Training Camp (from females). They almost all say the same thing. They start off with the basics (gear), then move on to clothes, shoes, toiletries, electronics, HEAD PHONES, and then personal extras. Almost every girls says that it is nice to have a curling iron or hair straightener and make up if it’s something you normally use. They say and normalcy from home is nice to have. However, they all say that these are not things you use every day.

Training Camp packing list discourage bringing these things and they usually say things like prepare to deal with unkempt hair.

The World Race packing blogs are pretty clear that you will at times go long stints without washing your hair and that you will get dirty. Though the lack of showering and dirtiness I will have to deal with, I can tell you that this unkempt hair thing I will not.

God has blessed me with what I have begun to call missionary hair. As of today, I haven’t washed my hair in a week (I have showered) and my hair looks fine. You’d never guess. It’s not super greasy. It’s not a tangled mess. It’s not frizzy or flat. It’s fine.

I have a lot of things that are going to make me a good missionary. But I also have hair that can be washed, then slept on, then I wake up don’t brush it, leave the house, and get compliments on it. It just does what it’s supposed to. I’m not trying to brag about my hair. It’s nice, it’s low maintenance, I like it. My point is that God gave me the hair he gave me because it would make my life easier on the mission field.

God gave me missionary hair so that I could be a missionary.

In other words I KNOW I’M CALLED INTO MISSIONS BECAUSE . . . I HAVE MISSIONARY HAIR.

P.S. I can’t get my pictures to upload. They will come soon 🙂

P.S.S. My older brother got it too (also pictures to come) 😛
