This blog idea was inspired by 2 things. Firstly – Happy Easter!!! and Secondly – a conversation I had with someone this week.
I hope that this blog encourages anyone who feels like their witness, the things they do to reach lost people, isn’t bringing anyone to Christ.
I am going on the World Race and one of my goals is to help bring people to Jesus. I want them to find what I have found in Him. I want them to know that Jesus died to take the punishment for their sins and defeated death in His resurrection so that they could be saved. I want with all my heart for everyone I meet to believe that and to receive eternal life and everything else that comes with knowing Jesus.
All of that being said, Saving People is not one of my goals for the World Race. I am not going on this trip to save people.
My goal is not to save people because I can’t save anyone. It’s not my job. Unfortunately, as humans we cannot save anyone. I am not perfect. I am not God. So there is no way that I can help save anyone. I cannot save people, however, I can do what God has called me to do.
I can (we all can) live a life that shows people Jesus. We are called to be walking, breathing, living proof of Jesus and everything he has done for us. It seems really simple, but that is enough for God to work with. We need to preach to people daily with our actions and our attitudes, and preach with words when we absolutely have too.
We need to live our lives in a way that shows people who Jesus is. This is enough for God to step in and do the rest. Because we cannot save people, God uses our lives to reach people.
We may see people come to know Christ, but more often than not we are just a step in the process that leads them their. We may be the foundation layer; that first person who shows them who Jesus is. We may be the draywallers; the person getting them one step closer to Jesus. We may be roofers; the person adding that last touch to the house before they finally accept Jesus. Whatever part in the process we are, God is going to work with it.
