This month Adventures in Missions is honoring Christian men. I have heard some really awesome stories about World Racers on the field, people’s fathers and brothers, and missionaries. There are many Christain men who are doing amazing things for God, but I would like to take a few minutes and honor a few amazing men in my life.
These men aren’t pastors; they’re not missionaries; they’re in a sense ordinary people. But they live their lives as if the grocery store, the gym, their office, their school, and their neighborhoods are their mission field. They try to be examples of God in the way they live their lives.
The first person I would like to introduce you to is Josh Blasdel!

Josh is 25 years old, and he works at in an office in Atlanta.
I asked Josh how he models his faith in everyday life. He told me that “the biggest outward expression [of his faith] is just by letting the joy and comfort [he] find[s] in God shine through when [he is] going throughout [his] day. Just by having a positive attitude and not stressing over obstacles that appear because [he] know[s] God is in control.” Josh believes that this is “infectious” and that people will notice this in him.
This is something that I agree with because I have noticed it in Josh. I remember telling my mom once that I didn’t think Josh was doing what he wanted to spend the rest of his life doing (this is an assumption- he might have been) but that he seemed so positive and grateful for the job he had. I told her that it was amazing to see this attitude and that I hoped if I were ever in a similar situation I could have a similar attitude. Josh really does reveal his faith and trust in God through his positive attitude.

Another thing Josh does to model his faith in everyday life is by serving. He says that serving is “very impactful both in demonstrating [his] faith and helping to explain/show it to others.” Josh serves other to help show them the faith he has in Jesus. His service to others is something he uses to demonstrate God’s love and his faith.
I have gone to church with Josh since I was a 7th grader, and he served their in many different capacities over the years. Josh left a large mark on the youth group by serving as a small group leader for high school students. He was able to model his faith for the students through his service and to teach them more about God – and teaching is something he is very gifted in.

The final way Josh models his faith in everyday life is by “taking time to pray, reflect, & read the Bible on [his] own.” He believes that it is the “most impactful demonstration of faith even though most people never know” because spending time with God flows into the rest of your life.
Josh is a wonderful, Godly man who is furthering God’s kingdom by living his life in a manner that is honoring to God and that models his faith for the people around him. I am so proud of Josh and the influence his faith has on the people in his life.
