On a Saturday afternoon three of my fellow CGA friends and myself decided it was a beautiful day and we needed to break up the mundane life that everyday we do the same thing. We had that spring is here we have to get out of the house itch.
So the four of us loaded up in a car with no plans and no idea what we were going to do, but expecting it to be full of fun. We decided that at each intersection we would choose left or right and just see where we ended up. In the beginning we were fully content to just drive with the windows down and music playing. The car was full of laughter and singing.
And then it happened we found our first stop of the day, and of course it was a playground at a school. All I had wanted to do was go swinging that day, and here we were without me even asking. Picture 4 people in their mid 20's racing for the swing set just to enjoy the sun beating on their face and the joys that come when you act like a child again.

It didn't take long before we started sharing stories of being little on the playground for recess and the games we would play on the swings and with our friends at recess. For a quick moment we were back there being children again and just laughing at the ridiculous stories we shared. The first stop to our no planned day was a success!
As we loaded back in the car there was a new sense of freedom and friendship that had just been built while playing together. We were off again, windows down, music playing, looking for our next stop.
After passing several churches who were having Easter egg hunts (which we badly wanted to stop at) we finally found our next stop. The Ugly Tomato. This place grabbed our attention because of the name of course, but then we noticed this place had plenty of lawn ornaments outside and our curiosity became even more for what could be inside this gem of a place.
You name it The Ugly Tomato probably has it, there were coffee blends, spices, old records, books, and of course old fashioned coke's to purchase. But the best part of this place was the gentleman who owned it. This man had such a huge heart and a smile that would welcome anyone into his shop. After talking with him for a while, we encouraged him and were about to leave when we noticed a flea market/ garage sale right next to his shop.

Of course knowing the four of us we wanted to see what the lady was offering and so we wandered over. She also had a little bit of everything but more importantly she had the heart of Christ. Small talk started as soon as we entered her little store. I could tell this woman needed some encouragement and loved poured on her after the stories she shared of the love she pours out on her kids and grandkids.
She asked us for prayer for her father in law, and we asked if we could pray for her. In the middle of her garage sale we prayed for a woman who gives and gives and isn't always seen. we took the time to stop and see what Jesus had for us in that moment. we were not to busy to be used or to busy with our own agenda to stop and chat with some people for a while.
This was only our second stop of the day and already we were having an amazing time and just following the spirit to lead us exactly where he wanted us that day.
The rest of our day looked similar we stopped at a thrift store and bought matching T-shirts that we preceded to wear the rest of the day. We made it to another small cute town in Georgia where we wandered the streets going into shops and just laughing with each other. we shared food, and chocolate of course.

But more importantly we shared a day full of memories, that wouldn't have happened if we didn't step out of the mundane of our lives and say Jesus where do you want to go today.
