Since Palm Sunday I have been reflecting and thinking about Good Friday and what that means and looks like here in the states. To say that I have formed a righteous anger for the way it is overlooked is more accurate.

Most people I know go to church on Palm Sunday and they hear about how Jesus rode this donkey through the town, and people were waving palm branches and shouting hosanna. We picture a parade now a days and that is what we think of. It's this time of honor and bringing glory to Jesus. There is excitement and eagerness because you know that in a week He will be risen!

But wait did we forget to remember that he had to die first?

The facts don't go from parade on Palm Sunday to He is risen on Easter. No there is Good Friday, he went to the cross to bore the sins of the entire world. That means your sins too.

However so many people don't focus on that for long or at all. Instead we focus on our new dress or outfit we are going to wear to church on Sunday or what will be in our Easter basket.

We  get to hear the happy stories of Palm Sunday and Easter because those happen at our Sunday services. But it takes choice and dedication to go and find a church who is having a Good Friday service. And lots of them happen during the day, which means sacrificing work to mediate and be with other believers who have the same thing in common.

This man named Jesus died for OUR sins that day.

Is it asking to much to sacrifice some of our time and day to reflect on our Saviour who sacrificed his life?

Our society loves the happy ending stories, we wait for them in movies, and listen for them in stories, which is why we rush past Good Friday.

I believe that Good Friday is the happy ending, If Jesus wouldn't have went to the cross and took on the pain and suffered for us, we wouldn't have Easter to celebrate that He is RISEN! Which truly is a great thing.

My challenge for you is to take this Friday for what it is, and that is GOOD. Reflect on what happened, and what not only Jesus had to go through but what his heavenly daddy had to go through.

Don't just go from Palm Sunday, yield for Good Friday, and Rush on to Easter. But instead STOP and take in all that Good Friday is.
