This month we are staying in a church and heading to a different village each day. In the village we go house to house praying for people and then after stopping at each house we hold a meeting where everyone from the village attends a church service where someone from the team shares their testimony.
We have been doing this ministry for about a week now and God has been showing up big time. On December 11, 2011 we were walking around a village praying for homes and I was feeling awful. My team had to stop and rest at several homes because I thought I was going to pass out. I was feeling miserable, however my team prayed for me several times and after each prayer I was feeling better and could do more home visits. I was fully relying on Gods strength to get through the day.
After a couple hours of doing home visits we arrived at one house where a lady wanted prayer and she was deaf and mute. This lady was hungry for more of God and fully believed God was going to heal her. She had tears running down her face and kept doing hand motions pointing to her throat and then to the sky. My team circled around her and asked God to heal this beautiful lady who was crying out to him. After saying a short prayer our translator Agape asked her if she could hear. The lady shook her head yes!! Praise the Lord she could hear!! As a team we decided to pray for her voice again. While praying for her you could feel the Holy Spirit in the circle. After we prayed for her our translator asked her to speak, she started off by mumbling some words. We started singing praises to God and she started to match our pitches and speak. This lady who couldn’t hear or tell us what she needed prayer for vocally was now listening to us worship and joining us in worshiping our wonderful creator. Hallelujah!!!
After seeing God do this I was pumped and ready to pray for anyone and didn’t matter how tired or sick I felt. God renewed my strength in that moment and filled me with his strength and heart for his children. This is one of many miracles that happened this past week. We prayed for many people who had aches and pains, another woman who couldn’t hear, and a man who hadn’t walked in 4years. This week we were also privileged to name a beautiful baby girl. The name we gave her after praying about it was Hannah. God showed up and healed these people and in the process strengthened my faith and God was able to show off in the process.
What a great thing to be a part of during the holiday season spending amazing time with Jesus which is the reason we have Christmas in the first place. India has been a wonderful experience so far and it’s only been a week. I can’t wait to see where Jesus is going to take me and my team the rest of this month.
