Week One Done
My team just completed our first week of ministry. It's kind of hard to believe we have only been here for one week, it feels like months ago we were trying to work our way through delayed flights and long train rides. I thought I would update all you wonderful people on what ministry is going to look like this month, and highlights of this week.
Our ministry this month changes from day to day during a week. On Monday's we head into the city of Targu-Mures and pray over the city and for divine appointments. There are several key locations that we walk to every time we are in the city. Some of those locations are the medical university that is located here, lots of little parks (sidewalk with benches around it), the fortress (an area in the city with a wall around it), and a hospital that specializes in cancer patients.

Tuesday is a day off and one of rest for my team.
Wednesday we travel to one of the local villages that surround Targu-Mures. We pray for the people in this village and just love on them. This week we traveled to one of the local villages and prayed for a man who had been hit by a car. This man was a believer and we were able to encourage him with worship and pray over him. The children in this village were so full of joy and excited to have their picture taken and just be loved on.

Thursday is another day of praying in the city. This week the two teams split up and went to several of the places in the city. I went with Christian and Stephanie from my team to the university. First we prayed for the students there and then we went up to a little hangout spot and met a girl named Sophi. We were able to talk with her and just get to know her as a person. When we first walked up I knew God was telling us to sit near her and just love on her. She seemed to be lonely and didn’t smile much. After spending time with her, you could see in her eyes some joy that was blooming. After we left the three of us just took some time and prayed for her some more.
Friday we head into the city towards the afternoon. We pray and invite people to a youth meeting which basically is at a restaurant area and it’s a place for anyone to ask questions and grow in their faith.
Saturday looks a lot like Friday but instead of ending with a youth meeting we attend church. Each week two of us share a short testimony with the small congregation and worship with them.
Sunday is another day of rest for us. Today we went to the church in the village we are staying at. Everyone from both teams was given time to introduce themselves and let the congregation know what we had done before coming here. This way the people in this village know us while we are walking around.
This is just a brief outline of what are ministry will look like this month. I’m excited to take you on the journey this month to see what God is going to do in it.
Fun little highlights
- Both teams this month are staying in a nice house each with our own bed, and hot showers for the most part.
- Packing a bus full of people so much so that you can’t move even if you need to has become normal
- Walking for hours every day is something we expect, even if it’s completely dark and you don’t know where you are going.
- We have a painter friend that comes to the house most days and talks to us with hand motions. He is a joy to be around
Prayer requests
- For God to show up in ways that none of us expect
- For transportation to keep going well
- Even more community among our teams
- Financial support so I can stay here and keep doing God’s work
