Update: Vintage Paris Fundraiser-

When I tell people how much I have to raise you can guess their first reaction…
…Jaw drop
I'm not surprised because mine did too.  I feel lucky if my bank account reaches $1000 dollars.  Thinking of over $13,000 is completely insane!!  Leaving the country every few months the last couple of years hasn't exactly let me save any money.
So what in the world am I going to do?

Pray to God and ask for help.

February of last year I returned from living in Mexico with about $10 dollars to my name.  I had a job already lined up, but something got messed up in the paperwork so it took a full month to get paid.  I managed to find food, but the last of Feburary I had $700 due for my upcoming Nicaragua trip last summer.  Week of payment came and I still had not got paid or recieved enough funding to pay for trip.  I told God that if this was what He had planned and He provided, I would go… but at that moment, it didn't look as if I would be able to.  That week, within two days, two (not just one but two) $400 checks came in the mail.  It may not  be in our timing, but God will provide

The beginning (and continuing) works of fundraising

  • Selling hair clips and other things I make-  this is something I've been doing for a couple years now and it has been pretty successful.  Below are a few examples: For more, check out my facebook page under "LINKS"

  • Selling T-shirts- Supports both ministries I am fundraising for:  Little One's Ministries and Adventures in Missions

  • Fundraiser at a Local Coffee Shop- Vintage Paris (Hollister, MO)– I will hopefully have a date tomorrow :).  I am going to have cards passed out a week before hand and then mid-April set up on a weekend night with flyers, items for sale, gift basket drawings, music, awesome coffee, and information to bring awareness to what I am fundraising for.

  • (In the early early stages)- Mission Shower when I get back from Nicaragua at the end of July–  this is just a thought still, but one of my awesome friends has graciously decided to put on a "shower" for me to hopefully get some supplies I am going to need for the trip (see "You Mean I have to Pack a Years Worth of Stuff in a Backpack!?!– What I Need" for more information on these items.)  I will be updating this list soon).  Updates on how that is coming along will be up as soon as we figure out some details.

  • Getting it out in the newspaper/ talking to churches/ sending out my support letters/ bugging the crap out of people on facebook so they don't forget me 🙂 – all in the process… but one step at a time.  I don't want to stress out.  I know God will provide.

I am not going to worry about HOW I will come up with the money.  God has always provided in the past. I ask for prayers that I might continue to trust in God's timing (not my own).  If it is His will, I WILL be funded. 🙂
