So this month in India we are working with Sarah’s Covenant Home. She houses disabled children that were abandoned in orphanages. She has an amazing program going for all of the children here. They have 107 kids they take care of. It used to be that they all were in one house together. It was a big house but for that many kids it was a bit crowded. Now they have 5 homes they live in. In each apartment they have a foster mom and helpers. There are about 10 kids per apartment. The kids are now thriving and improving so much. They are such a joy to be around. The foster moms are so caring and loving. They are really working with them to get them to where they should be. Most of the kids are now in private schools and are doing really well.
So as we are working with them we get to comb out lice. (Yeah you can just imagine how much lice there is.) It honestly is not bad at all to do that for them. They are trying to make sure they are all taken care of. We also are going to be painting and cleaning in one of the homes. In the afternoons we get to play with the kids and just hang out with them. It takes so much patience to be with them all day. I have so much respect for all of the foster moms. I love going and playing with the kids. They have so much joy and love to just get our personal attention. A lot of the kids would be over looked in many places, but here they are all loved on. They all know how much they are loved and valued. If you could only see the joy they exude, you would just fall in love with all of these children. I know they have all stolen my heart and it has only been a few days. I can’t wait to share some stories this month about the growth of the children. This is by far my favorite month yet on the race!
By the way I have an update about my support account…. I made the deadline!!! Thank you everyone for your prayers and support. I will now be able to stay on the race till the end of December. God is so good. I seem to have a theme going that I get my support coming in the day it is due. I know God is teaching me a lesson in that. It really is stretching me and making me grow. So now I have one more deadline to meet and that is January 1st. I have to have $4,500 to stay on the race for the whole 11 months. If we can let’s try to make it before the last day J. But I know God will provide and if I have to wait again I can. So please keep praying for me and my team. Thank you all for being so amazing.
