There are no words. No words to accurately describe this past week. How does one put into words the overabundance of the Spirit? I’ve seen God work in some incredible ways this week. From reconciling countless broken relationships, to His Spirit overflowing and revealing Himself in multiple different ways, to building a love between fellow squad mates that is literally OUT OF THIS WORLD! God showed up y’all. It’s an overwhelming experience to see so many hands lifted high in absolute surrender and tear-streaked faces beaming with joy that only comes from the Father. Hearts and minds were opened as we encountered God and grew in His love. I could go on and on just thanking God for having His hand in everything, but here are a few things I learned at training camp:
1. Faking a British accent is always a good idea, but takes a bit of dedication.
2. There are scorpions in Georgia. What?!
3. Personal space in NOT a real thing.
4. Earplugs are magic.
5. Anytime is a good time for a dance off.
6. Showering becomes overrated when close to 200 girls are sharing 4 showers. (Baby wipe shower yeah!)
7. Jumping into a lake at night with your car keys in a less than secure place is not exactly a genius idea.
8. Singing and praising God around a campfire in the middle of the forest at night is THE BEST.
9. Our limitations are NOT God’s limitations.
10. Run to God first.
11. God’s presence transforms us when we come as ourselves.
12. Doing things on my own and in my own strength is a ridiculous notion. Full dependence on God is THE way to go. (Let go of pride!)
13. Satan’s lies mean nothing when my focus is where is needs to be…on Christ.
To sum it up, this was an outstanding week filled with the Holy Spirit. There were fun times, hard times, and life-changing moments that will not easily be forgotten. I was challenged, encouraged, loved and lifted up in prayer. This week shattered all my expectations and sparked growth in my heart and in my character that I know will continue as I venture deeper into God’s plan and will for my life.
I’m so pumped to have everyone involved in this journey with me and can’t wait to further explain some of the experiences that I have mentioned here. (Stay tuned folks. It’s coming soon!)
If you are excited about the work God is doing in my life and how He will work to touch the lives of others through my squad on this journey, please consider supporting me financially.
