Dear Family and Friends,
I hope this letter finds you well! You are receiving this letter because you have played a role in my life or my family’s. You may be someone currently involved, or you may be someone who I have not seen in years. But, I would like to share with you what God has and is doing in my life.
I have a passion for working with people internationally after spending 6 weeks in Kenya 2 years ago. It was life changing and made me the person I am today. This year, I attended the Passion Conference. David Platt spoke there, and I purchased his book Radical (which I highly recommend). I learned a lot from this book and desire to reach out and expand God’s Kingdom. I want to work with people around the world and live a life that is meaningful and glorifying to God! I don’t know what my future holds, but I have been given an amazing opportunity to serve Christ on The World Race.
The World Race is an 11 month long mission trip to 11 different countries! On the Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children in prostitution, preach the Gospel, and a variety of other ministries. God commands us to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20) and to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 19:19), and I hope to serve in these ways.
I invite you to be part of this ministry. I have a great need in the form of financial support. My needed total is $14,300. Financial support can be a one-time gift or monthly support. I applied to this trip last-minute, so my first deadline to meet is $3,000 by July 2 when I head to training camp! But, I in no way want anyone to feel obligated to financially support me. I hope that you will prayerfully consider sponsoring me and give what you feel God is leading you to give… that amount may be small or great, it may be a comfortable amount or it may be an act of faith to give more than you feel comfortable with. WHATEVER the amount you are able to contribute, I want you to know that it is of GREAT significance and a blessing! Without financial support, this trip is not possible. I am very excited to see how God will use me to impact the lives of others and how He will change me in that process. I long to be radically changed through this experience and to have God turn my life up-side-down! I am not going to lie… I am completely terrified to do this trip. I fear… safety, the GIANT spiders around the world, leaving everything I know/all of my comforts here, leaving my family for so long, the short amount of time I have to prepare for this trip…the list goes on. But, I also know that these are little things. A phrase I heard at the Passion Conference that has stuck with me is… “Circumstances have no power over us, they cannot eliminate Christ!” God is bigger than any concern or fear. And, that is what excites me about this trip… it is out of my comfort zone! I pray that God will forever change me from this experience and I ask that you pray for me as well.
