This is a quick update about preparation for the Race – praise, needs, and prayer requests.
First- a reason for praise! Fundraising for this mission trip began a little over a month ago, yet I have a quarter of the amount committed that I need to be fully funded! My remaining need is now about $11,000. Although I can continue fundraising during the trip itself, I am trying to reach full funding before I leave (September) so that my time overseas can be spent fully devoted to mission work.
Second- another reason for praise! As I began preparation for this trip, I assumed that preparation meant getting support and my packing list together. No, it seems that there is an entirely different side to preparation as well, and that is spiritual. Ever since I decided to follow God’s calling and pursue this trip, He has been working in my life in so many incredible ways that I cannot even begin to describe! Not only has God been working IN me, but He has given me so many pushes outside of my comfort zone in opportunities to share the Gospel and do His work HERE. My last few months have been full of incredible experiences that I am so grateful for.
Also, we are now about 7 months away from leaving for our first country. J
Once again, I invite you to partner with me in this work that God is doing, by prayers or support.
Right now I ask for prayers for preparation, both funding-wise and spiritually. Also, that the process of getting ready to leave the country (passport, shots, etc.) goes smoothly. Finally, for the group of people that I will be with throughout the year, whoever they may be.
