On August 1, 2014, I returned to the United States after serving God for 11 months in over 11 countries with the World Race through Adventures in Missions. In the last year God has awakened my heart to understand the depths of Him as our Creator and our Father. He has awakened me to the importance of community, to the beauty of His creation, and His heart for justice. Most importantly, He has awakened me to His Sovereignty. Throughout the past year, it appeared to me, that everywhere we saw injustice we also saw disciples sent by God to reach the oppressed and the oppressor.

Throughout this past year, God has pursued me in a way that has called me to bring the passions He has given me to fruition, so that I will be his voice for justice as I shine his light in the darkness. The vision he has given me is to bring sustainable agriculture to the marginalized. God has shown me that sustainable agriculture is a means to reconnect His children to Him, and for them to see that He is their constant provider, that He values them ‘more than the birds of the air’ and ‘the flowers of the field’, and with such purpose over their lives He has given each of them gifts that exist to glorify Him (Matthew 6:25-34).

The community that I envision will seek to reconnect the marginalized to God’s creation, and open their hearts to the truth that they are valued as sons and daughters of His creation. They will not only come to recognize their Creator through his creation, but they will take part in creating, through the fine arts, as they process the journey they are on in their lives. The community will provide them the tools to understand and to recognize that the gifts God has given them overpower the limitations their society has placed on them. Through discipleship they will discover their identity in Christ, and journey in the calling of glorifying Him. This community would then share its harvest, both literally and spiritually, with the community that previously held little hope for a fulfilled life in Christ. In the end, a community would be formed that sees each person as inherently a precious piece of God’s creation, and worth much value in such an identity. Firm in their identity as empowered children of a Sovereign God, and equipped in the passions God has placed on their hearts, they would then be sent out to disciple others in the joy that comes from a life spent using your passions to glorify God.

Recently, God has opened my heart to bringing such a community into an urban setting located in Asia, where cement walls disconnect God’s children from seeing His daily provision, and traditional religious practices have turned God’s creation into temples for idol worship.

God has called me into a season of equipping for this ministry, and has led me to G42, a leadership academy in Mijas, Spain. G42 exists as a final step of equipping for those who have a vision from God, and seek to see it come into fruition, and to do so in a community that centers around discipleship. For me, it will be a time to be educated in sustainable agriculture and art therapy, a time to be discipled, and a time to learn the depths of discipling those who are unaware of their value in the eyes of Christ. While at G42 I will pour into a community, and seek the discernment and wisdom of others on the vision God has given me. I will have the opportunity to build a community that will join me in being sent out to the nations. G42 will also provide an opportunity to share a unique perspective with those who are called to the nations, along with learning from the perspective of others. I will attend classes for 6 months starting in October through March. Tuition is $6,300, and will cover the cost of classes, food, and housing. In order for me to start classes this October I need to raise $3,150 before departing.

Here I am, with a passion far beyond me, and overjoyed by the beauty of it all. The beauty to empower the marginalized, the beauty to share with others the intricacies of God’s creation, and to bring them into a place where they seek to glorify Him. I am writing this letter to ask for your partnership as an essential member of this ministry. I urge you to prayerfully consider partnering, both prayerfully and financially, alongside God’s ministry to help the marginalized, so that I might receive the funding for G42, and continue in this next step of equipping and establishing a community to join me in Asia.

If you would like to join in financially supporting my training at the G42 leadership academy, and the start of a community that seeks to glorify God through empowering the marginalized, please donate here:

May the God of Peace be with you as you prayerfully consider joining me in this journey to set up a community to help the marginalized.

Joyfully,

Kayla Hatcher
