Here is an updated support letter that includes some information that developed while at training! (HINT: new countries):
I would like to share with you a journey of great discovery. In 2010 while interning at an orphanage in China, God asked me to give up my life for his ministry to the “least of these” (Matthew 25:40). Since then I have been searching to discover where this might lead me as I moved my life goals around this heart of Christ. After graduation I spent months praying, researching, and applying to work with many different organizations. One night during a conversation about international ministry a friend told me about The World Race through Adventures in Missions.
God willing, in September, I will join a community of 55 believers to serve alongside ministries in 11 different countries over 11 months. The countries include: China, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda. This opportunity will broaden my view of the social injustices of this world as we work with orphans, widows, the poor, those affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army, those affected by human trafficking, and many others.
While at training, I was granted a position working with Unsung Heroes. The Unsung Heroes program is meant to provide manpower and nonmonetary support to ministries that are serving the most impoverished populations in the world. Kaitlyn and I will search for these ministries, connect with them while on the field, and meet up with teams that are working with Unsung Heroes contacts. This position is an answer to my prayers!!
I prayed that God would open my eyes to the many ways in which he works throughout our world. My hope is that the Holy Spirit, throughout this coming year, would direct me towards a future ministry.
“If one wishes to know love, one must love, in Action,” said Leo Buscaglia. To know love, is to know Christ, I am in prayer that you will join me in this opportunity to “love, in action”. I am writing you to ask for your partnership, both prayerfully and financially, in this ministry. God has provided $3,993 of the $15,500 total support. I am in need of $2,507 by August 18th in order to leave with my ministry team in September. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation, where you choose the amount and beginning and end date. If 25 people pledge $620, or $52 a month for 12 months, I would have 100 percent of the funds necessary for this opportunity.
This ministry will entail great discovery, not only in my life and your life, but also in the lives of those we will minister to during these11 months.
