Our week at higher grounds camp was amazing. God used these campers to teach me so many things. All of them were completely normal at one point in their lives; but due to things like an airplane crash, a car crash, a stroke, or even a fall they now have disabilities that keep them from living the “normal” lives that they once knew and they have been stripped of certain freedoms that they once had. Despite all of this these campers taught me what sustainable joy looks like, they loved with a selfless love and they showed me what it looks like to be content in all circumstances. I feel truly blessed to been a part of what God is doing here at this camp and in the lives of the campers. This week I thought that I was going to be helping and teaching them; but in many ways they showed me more of Jesus and taught me more than I believe that I could ever have taught them.
