In order to fully understand this blog you should read the blog before this one 🙂
This day of camp was my absolute favorite day, hands down. This day was our ministry day. Our assignment was to get with our team and pray; asking the Lord where He wanted us to go and do ministry. We did exactly that and my team felt lead to go back to T-Birds Roadhouse and talk to Daniel; and explain our team name to him. On the way there we made a pit stop and bought a few birthday gifts for his daughter, who was having her first birthday on Sunday. We bought her a few kid’s books with Bible stories in them, a stuffed monkey, bubbles, and a few other little fun things; along with a birthday card that everyone signed. When we got to the restaurant Daniel just happened to walk outside so we approached him and asked if he had a moment to talk. We started by giving him the present for Page Marie, this was on Saturday which was the day before her birthday. Then we went on to tell him that we had named our team “Daniel” and that the idea started with him. We also explained to him that there is a guy named Daniel in the Bible who was a strong man of God and continued to fight for what he knew to be right, even when his life was at risk, and because of that a whole nation got to hear of his God and see God move. We asked him if we could pray with him and we gave him a bracelet from Threads of Hope to remind him that we will continue to pray for him and his daughter. It was so rewarding to see Daniel’s reaction to the love that we had shown him. He was blown away. His hands were shaking and water was filling up his eyes. He told us that he does believe in God and that he couldn’t believe that “something like this” would ever happen to him.

Here is my Team Daniel with Daniel!
The rest of the day we walked around a small town, Murphy North Carolina, and just talked with people, listed to their stories, and loved on them as much as we could. I met some really awesome people and families. I was so encouraged by the lives of the people I came into contact with. We also held up some signs on the side of the rode; one said “ Stop here for prayer” and the other said “ Honk if you love Jesus.” It was quite interesting nobody stopped for prayer but everyone was honking for Jesus.. ha..

I took so much away from this experience. I feel much more confident in spreading God’s love with people who I have never met before and doing it on a personal level. I feel much more confident in the fact that God can use me in really big ways, even if something seems like such a small thing to me. I learned that if people feel appreciated and listened to then they are more likely to open up and listen to what I have to say. I learned that when I take one step out in faith that God runs a mile towards me to see my faith through. I learned that I can evangelize in America and not feel extremely uncomfortable about it; but instead feel empowered by God and the things that He is going to do.
