I am currently studying about major world religions. It’s eye opening to see how different people’s worldviews are based on their religion and culture. It’s also sad to see how hopeless most of the religions are and how little they really offer to their followers.
What really excites me is that I will get to see all of these first hand during this next year. I can’t wait to experience each culture and see the uniqueness each has to offer. I know that we will get to see and experience many different holidays and customs as we travel our route. I hope that as we go, we can begin to bring light into that culture and spread the true hope that we have to offer.
I recently got to participate in a Christianized sansang (spelling?), a Hindu worship ritual, and was lead by man who has worked in India as a missionary. He used it as a way to expose us to how they have church and worship sessions over there. He has them daily at his and welcomes anyone who wishes to join. It was cool to see how they a Hindu culture practice and turned it into a Christian worship service. They kept the cultural aspects together, allowing any Hindu that joined to feel comfortable. I can’t wait to see how many other ways we get to see the gospel and time worship customized to fit the culture.
