Well…we have landed safe and sound in Ireland! It is beautiful here and it truly is the land with “40 shades of green.” We took a bus to Greystones where we are staying with our host family. The ladies sleep upstairs split between 3 rooms, and the men all share the front room. The host family has been great! When we first got to the house they had a meal prepared for us, which was a huge blessing! It always amazes me how willing people are to have guests in their house and making you feel so welcome! We have been getting used to the routine and we will be going out and handing out tracks to people to share the gospel. I have loved getting up early to run and enjoy God’s creation while spending time in His arms. We have also been able to help our host family out with a variety of tasks including weeding a garden, cleaning out 2 campers, putting together and cleaning a van/bus, painted and cleaned our bathroom. We also have had the blessing to go out into different towns to hand out gospel tracts and talk with a variety of people about Jesus. Being here in Ireland and talking with people reminds me of the reason why we are here, which is to serve and share about Jesus Christ! It is amazing to see how God moves in even the smallest things! God definitely has a plan for this month and I trust that God is working in every situation. These next 11 months will take a lot of endurance but I know that I have a shepherd up in heaven that is going to be my protector and give me strength and lead me to where I need to go. In times of struggles my shepherd is going to wrap his arms around me. I am so excited to know that I have a shepherd that will never lose me and always keep me in his sight.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
