From the time we hit the boarder of Bolivia, I felt something different about this place. I recall looking out towards the mountains as we crossed the boarder, wishing I had my camera in hand because “the grass really is greener” here. I know it sounds cliché but in the short time we have been here I can honestly say that the sky seems bluer here and I know this place will always have a special place in my heart.
I don’t think I would ever tire of seeing the hillsides filled with terracotta colored homes, the brilliant blue sky and fluffy while clouds, the majestic mountains, the colorful historic buildings or the little old ladies dressed in their traditional dress.
I spent my first morning here in Bolivia, out in our hostels garden where there is an breathtaking view of the city, I sat looking out over the city and was compelled to pray for La Paz, and in reality that compulsion hasn’t stopped. I know that this is a city in great need, and I know the need is Jesus. I feel strongly that prayer is one of the main facets of ministry for me this month, not only because we have an Ask The Lord month in ministry, but because praying for La Paz is one of the main reasons I am in this city right now. I may not be able to make a huge difference in the lives of the people around me, but I can sure pray for the people here and through that God can do miraculous things.
Will you join me in praying for La Paz, Bolivia this month?
The following are pictures that can only show a small amount of the beauty of this place that has stolen my heart.
