Hi everyone!
I would like to share a little bit about how God called me to the mission field.
Before I graduated from high school in 2014, I felt that the Lord was calling me to the mission field. He gave me a desire to help, love, and care for His people around the world.
This calling frightened me. Doing missions work did not fit into my plan for my life. I was certain that I was supposed to go to college, get my degree, become a nurse, and begin my career and family.
Serving God in the mission field could never be a part of that plan!
So, I ran from this calling. For over two years I tried to put it out of my mind, and focus on my life and what I wanted, rather than what God wanted for me.
But, recently God has been working in my life. He has shown me that any plans I have for myself are nothing compared to what He will do in and through me if I only surrender my life to Him. So I made the decision to become a “living sacrifice” for God, and serve His people.
After prayerfully seeking God’s guidance, He has led me to participate in the World Race Gap Year!
I still don’t understand why God would want to use. But, I am willing and eager to serve Him!
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8
