I’ve spend two of the last four days on the bus.
I’ve spent the last 11 nights or so sleeping in my tent.
This is the World Race.
I am now settling into Malawi, an absolutely beautiful country! It is known as the Warm Heart of Africa, and I can totally see why! There are only two of our eight teams staying in Malawi, so I feel incredibly blessed to be here this month! For the next eight days, I’m staying at a pastor’s house in a gorgeous mountain village. We have no electricity and no running water, so we are starting to really rough it! Its a pretty great new challenge, especially as this is our last month in Africa. We are going to be working with Harvesters International Ministries, working in some of their church plants. At least for the next eight days, our ministry will be focused on hut-to-hut visits and preaching in the church.
The other night, in the midst of our travel days, our amazing squad leaders Caleb and Megan spoke some great words to us. This month, midway through the month, is our half-way point on the Race. They challenged us to consider if we are where we thought we’d be half-way through our Race. And as I thought about it, I was torn. I have grown so much on this Race, but I still want to grow so much more in my relationship with Christ! I want to continue to daily die to self and allow Christ to move through me. I also want to learn to rely on Him more, to manifest His presence more. I think this is going to be a good month for that.
The other thing that they said that really stood out to me was this: you could say that the World Race is half-way over, but you could also say that its half-way begun. That hit me so hard! I had never considered that approach, to say that I’m still starting this thing. AIM has a saying, that their ceiling is our floor. That means that the highs that they reach are just the starting points for the rest of us, to go further in ministry and on the Race than they ever did. I see that as true for my time on the Race as well. The first half of my Race is just the floor for the second half, because the growth I’ve encountered will lead to further growth and revelations. I’m so excited to see where He leads me in the second start of this Race!
Thank you all for your continual support! It is such an incredible blessing to me. Please keep me in your prayers as I continue to dig deeper into what God has for me!
