We were asked to write a blog about how we were call to this mission trip. Here is my story…
I wanted to be a cardiologist when i was in high school. So, when i went to college i majored in biology. I thought that this was a great way to get in medical school. As is turned out that wasn’t exactly what God had in mind for me. I had a great general psychology professor my junior year, changed my majorto psychology, and graduated with two part time jobs lined up. Talk about feeling lost. I still had a heart for helping people I just was not sure how to do that just yet. So I enrolled in graduate school and began work on my Master’s in Professional Counseling. At this point I knew that I was following God’s plan, I just had a peace about everything. I had a phenomenal professor that really opened my eyes to a new world of helping people just by talked to them and reading body language. He encouraged me to pursur my dreams and become a counselor. As the second quarter came to a close I started spinning again, I felt like I was suppose to be somewhere else. So I talked to my professor about joining the Peace Corp. and he thought that was a good fit for me. After the application process, my application was put on hold because the recruiter that contacted me said that I needed some more life experience. He also suggested that I look into some missionary work. He said that he had a friend that did The World Race. So i did some research and prayed about whether or not this was for me. And then it started… All these signs started pointing me towards The World Race. Even my lease is up on my apartment August 1st. So I applied and here I am writing the blogs and praying that all of this money can be raised. I know I am leaving everything behind, picking up my cross, and following Him. I have never been so sure about anything. I know this where I am suppose to be and I am so excited to get going!!! World Race August 2009!!!
