One of the many perks of being an early riser is getting to watch the sun rise.  The other morning I awoke to the sun shining brightly through my tent (I've been camping out in parent's backyard, and yes, by choice).  I sat up to see the sun boldly rising over the hills of Southern Oregon, giving light to the snow-capped Mt. Mcloughlin.  It was another reminder of the creativity and care that God put into creating this beautiful earth.  I can just imagine God in great excitement creating the mountains, ocean, flowers, and sunrises and saying to Himself "yeah, they're gonna love this."  As I was soaking up all that beauty, a song kept playing in my head – "God With Us" by MercyMe.  It starts with "who are we, that You would be mindful of us…"  God, in all His power and glory, loves each of us deeply and it shows in His creation.  As I think about this I can't help but be thankful.  Thankful that with each beautiful sunrise is a new day.  And it's my choice what to do with that day.  Today, I choose to give thanks for how amazingly faithful God has been in my life, to take time to admire all the flowers that are in full bloom right now, to act in love and kindness (even, no, especially while driving, yikes!), to cherish time spent with my heavenly Father, to forgive, and to bring Him glory in all that I do.  Today is going to be a good day!
