** A road trip isn’t a road trip without a cucumber…ever

I fell head over heels in love.

Process the passed 10 days they said.

How do I process falling head over heals in love?

Have YOU ever been introduced to say 30 plus humans with the same beating heart? Imagine that. Imagine having the opportunity to live under one roof or in my case the same blanket of stars with humans that share the same passion, the same pain and the same love. Has your heart already started to pound, it should be. If it hasn’t yet… go outside and find out what your spark is, what makes you come alive… its time. (http://www.thesparkeffect.org/)

We are Expedition. Pioneering the newest endeavor of the World Race, the Expedition route focusing on the 10/40 window, the most unreached part of the world. Dangerous, sure but are we afraid? Not a bit! We are not ignorant. We are just called. Our hearts have the same heartbeat- the Fathers! We are ready to be used to change lives because we have been changed forever.

280 people got on a plane or hopped in there cars from all over North America and headed to Gainesville, Georgia to spend 10 days with 50 or so (30 in our Expedition crew) other people that we had “known” from social media for no more than 6 months. It felt like catfish at first site- moments of “you ARE real!” and “This is actually happening!” Abandoning the comfort of social media, instant communication with friends and family back home, coffee (as far as they are concerned 😉 God Bless via packets), our cars and hot showers; giving it all up to prepare for the next 13 months of our lives. We did life together on a small piece of land for 10 days eating, sleeping, praising, letting go, accepting who God created us to be, releasing bondage on our lives from unforgiveness, hurting, sweating, going potty in the woods (love that fresh air!), experiencing the wholeness of the holy spirit and bucket showering separately but together. Separated by paper light shower curtains blowing in the wind and gaping slats of wood for “privacy?” between you and another white butt cheek- so separately but together; like they say, love knows no bounds!

The morning after meeting our family we woke up to Cole’s radio voice “goooooooodmorning everybodyyy this is your WAKE up callll. Time to rise and shine”, the smell of camp fire still lingering in the air, last nights conversations with my new family still racing through my veins, tucked tightly in my sleeping bag rolling closer to Kayla for a couple more seconds of body heat until I got up the nerve to creep one hand out or my cozy cacoon to feel the cold dew on her tent imagining just what our workout could be this morning as I strapped on my head lamp. Sleep scenarios trained us for the possible and the inevitable and this night the airline “lost” my bags between countries so all I had was what was in my carry-on. Nights were cold so I was happy to have lost my luggage and snuggle with my new sister in her tent. My tennis shoes were in this said lost luggage and the morning work out was a 30 min run. Headlamp on, rainbows flops on my feet, challenge accepted!!! I have to add that my sweet sister Kayla joined me on this run in her Tevas. We will never let anyone go through anything alone. Our sleep scenarios weren’t ideal but I can honestly say I loved every bit. One night was spent in an airport simulation room lights on with airport simulation sounds blaring through the night, babies crying, cancelations over the speakers, planes landing but it was warm! I slept like a baby that night.

Stepping up the standard for the Expedition squad the World Race physical test is to walk or run 2 miles under 30 min- our qualifying test for Expedition was to run 4 miles with our 30lb. + pack under 60 minutes I finished with 5 min to spare! Jeff said it was relatively flat… he lied! haha RUDE

4 Mile Qualifier

Then we packed our bags for a 19 mile hike on the AT (Appalachian Trail). Usually known as “The Man Hike”, the Expedition ladies mixed things up this year tagging along and we crushed it. Forming bonds that could never be broken and memories that started it all.

I still can’t believe that what I am feeling is real. My blood is raging, my bones are shaking, my muscles jumping out of my skin. I have found myself speechless more then ever. His spirit has put a hush over my soul and it is smiling. Its time.

Expedition family, I am wildly in love with you.
