My team coach said something that really hit home for me a few weeks ago. He said that God does move mountains… but sometimes he asks us to climb one. The comment tugged on my heart and put a smile on my face; he doesn’t even “know” me and already knows what coaching I need! You’re good Mike… you’re good!
Money is a huge burden for me at the moment… it’s my mountain. Just last week God worked wonders and provided funds when I really didn’t think He was going to come through for me. Prayers do work! I prayed for God to move my mountain… He didn’t move it… He shrank it (substantially). Hmmm…Sometimes God calls us to climb the mountain.
Mike (knowingly or not) told me something I really didn’t want to hear, like (I’m paraphrasing) “you have to work your way to the top.” I don’t know much about climbing actual mountains, but I do know how to earn a dime or two. With your help I can climb this mountain.
Fundraisers and sponsor letters have been crashing for me, so I am keeping this simple. “Will work for Sponsorship!” I can stack wood…wash cars…cook… even watch kids. I can mow lawns, grocery shopping… paint your bathroom, empty out the shed… and clean a house till it sparkles. I’m up for a challenges and/or physical labor if that is what it takes! I can start scheduling things after I get back from training camp on the 26th. I haven’t been this excited to work… ever.
