I want to introduce you to some beautiful women of God who I’m going to begin the incredible journey of the World Race with in July. Read on…

Introducing my team: KIATERA
What is this word, and what does it mean, you ask? It means DAUGHTERS. Honestly, we found it rather randomly by searching a multi-lingual dictionary online (logos dictionary) and literally scrolling down until we found a word that we liked the sound of. When we said it…it just sounded right–Team Kiatera. A team of daughters. Because that is what we are: Daughters of the most high King! Daughters of GOD! I am so excited to be sisters with these young women, and that we’re all called to walk out the World Race together.

“Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear:
Forget your people and your father’s house.

The king is enthralled by your beauty;
honor him, for he is your lord.”

~Psalm 45:10-11

I have loved this verse for a long time, but suddenly it takes on a new meaning. We, team Kiatera, as daughters of the King, have literally been called to “forget our people and our father’s house(s)” for a year, to travel around the world to minister to the poorest of the poor, showing them the love of Christ. God has called us as his daughters to depend on Him as our Father like we never have had to before…In all that we do, we seek to honor HIM. Our very lives are becoming our sacrifice; we are laying down our lives as we know them and are willing to be changed by a year of service. …only it won’t just be a year of service; it’s going to set the tone for our entire lives. A lifetime of service, seeking to honor the king, my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Introducing my teammates:

Krystle Longmire

Krystle has been chosen and called out by AIM staff to serve as our Team Leader. Even before team assignments or leadership assignments were made at training camp, Krystle felt the Lord calling her into service through leadership. I am so excited to get to know this amazing, beautiful woman of God and to serve with her on the World Race.

Lindsay Stahl

Like me, Lindsay loves to DANCE! She does a different kind of dancing, but maybe we will both get to learn from each other through the course of the Race. I love Lindsay’s spunk and desire to keep things on the Race fun, and I can’t wait to learn the Zsa-Zsa Funk from her! (More on that later)

Brandi Strickland

I love Brandi’s sweet spirit and how the Lord speaks through her. At training camp there were several times when God gave Brandi a word for our entire squad and it was so encouraging and enriching every time. Serving alongside her will be wonderful and I can’t wait to do it and to learn from her!

Lisa Smith

Lisa has a compassionate, caring heart and has been on missions with AIM before, to the Kibera slums in Nairobi, Kenya. Her heart for teaching and for children is beautiful and I am so glad I will get to see it in action as we travel together and serve in orphanages, schools and churches around the world.

Zsa-Zsa

This is our crazy little team mascot. She loves the world as much as we do! She will be traveling around the world with us, helping us to keep things fun, colorful and less stressful. She will probably make many appearances in team photos and videos…and who knows what else, maybe we will get to share her love with kids around the world! 🙂

…Here are some photos from our first day together as a team. We had a blast picking out team shirts at Target: “Love is a Battlefield” will surely show up around the world, and we believe it is true in a deeper sense than the 80s pop song! As we travel around the world seeking to love with the love of Jesus, I know we will find it is not always easy to love (and not always easy to love each other)…but it’s a battle worth fighting, and we all know that love wins. 🙂 Enjoy the pictures!!
