“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
-Proverbs 31: 25-26
The members of Gap I Squad are excited. Like jump up and down, squeal, have a dance party by yourself in your room excited. Like can’t sleep, it’s hard to eat, I don’t know what to do with myself excited. We are very very excited.
Let me tell you why.
You see, in just THREE days, all the members of I Squad (along with about 3-4 other squads) are gathering together in Gainesville, Georgia for this thing called Training Camp.
Training Camp is a 10-day long period of time spent in Georgia with Adventures in Missions staff and World Race squad members, and is the training period for our World Race missions trip. These ten days are spent preparing our hearts, minds, spirits, and physical bodies for everything that the World Race might throw at us. It is a time to grow closer with our squad, to become the family that we will be living with, serving with, and doing everything with in the nine months we will be outside of the country for. It is also a time to strengthen relationships with the Lord, to rejuvenate our spiritual lives, and a time to listen closely to what He is saying to us.
And, like I said before, we are beside ourselves with excitement.
Because Gap I Squad has been talking to each other via the Internet and Google Hangouts since around August of last year, and we just can’t wait to meet the people who have already become our family.
Because we want to learn more about the Lord, about His grace, and His love. Because we want to experience Him on a whole new level.
Because we are ready to begin our World Race journey. Officially.
And, also because there have been some changes made to our squad.
You see, a month or so ago, the ladies of Gap I Squad were talking in our “All Girls” group chat about how our squad seemed to be devoid of boys. And how all the boys that were originally on our squad seemed to have found a different calling from the Lord for the next year, that did not include going on The World Race Gap Year October route 1. And we were a little concerned. But then, the next day, we all received a surprising/exciting email.
Gap I Squad is going to be the very first World Race squad that is an all-girl squad! How crazy is that? We are all so excited to make history together.
I know that I am excited to show the world that women don’t all always tear each other down, but can build each other up. That women are strong, and able, and God made us for a purpose.
To show the world that a group of 55 women can change the world together. And that they will.
However, to do so, I must reach my next fundraising goal, which is $10,000. Right now, I have $7,195 raised. This means I still have about $3,000 left to go. On my blogs, I have an average of about 250 views. That means if each person reading this blog right now donated $30, I would be FULLY FUNDED!
BUT, to make this more realistic, let’s set a goal of 100 people who are reading this right now…if 100 people donated $30, I would REACH and EXCEED my $10,000 goal!
(Or, if 30 people donated $100, I would also reach my goal. If you want to think about it that way. 🙂
Just click “HERE,” and put in the amount of $30!
I appreciate it!
Con Mucho Amor,
Katie
