Hey friends!
As you can see from the status bar at the top of my blog, I am only 25% fundraised so far. I have a long way to go to make sure I'm able to go to all 11 countries, so let me share with you some of my thoughts. . .
Right now, there are 210 million orphans in the world. 7.6 million people die of hunger each year. And nearly 3 billion people have never heard of the hope that is in Jesus Christ.
God has invited each one of us to be a part of the solution. For the next 11 months, my part is traveling to 11 different countries to feed the hungry, comfort orphans, and share the good news of Jesus.
I’m sharing this with you because I would love for you to come along on my journey.
First and foremost, I and my teammates desperately need your prayers. This undertaking is way out of our league—raising $15,500 in support, praying for sick people to be healed and the dead to rise, preaching sermons in Africa at a moment’s notice, laying down our own desires and rights to solely serve others. . .
Please pray for us for:
- God to prepare and touch the hearts of the people we serve
- Team unity
- Boldness in serving and preaching
If you want to be a part of my committed prayer team, praying for us daily or weekly, please let me know so I can update you on prayer needs as they pop up this year.
Hopefully, also, you enjoy reading my blog and are subscribed to get my email alerts all year π
And maybe, just maybe, you are excited about this trip and wish you could go, so you would like to financially support those of us who are going as missionaries on your behalf (really, God's behalf :).
If so, detailed financial instructions are below. If not, see you at the next blog post π
Peace be with you,
Katie
Giving Info:
I am so glad that you have decided to feed the hungry and give hope to the hopeless by sending me to the hurting people of this world!
Adventures in Missions has asked me to meet certain fundraising deadlines in order to finance the work we are doing.
By June 17th, I must have $6500 in my account.
By September 30th, I must have $11,000 in my account.
My December 31st, I must have $15,500 in my account.
There are multiple ways to donate—for recurring monthly donations I recommend Dynapay, and for a one-time donation I recommend writing a check. However, these types of donations take a few weeks to process, so if you are trying to help me reach a deadline in a short amount of time, I recommend paying with credit card or a bank draft.
Donating with Dynapay:
- Go to www.adventures.org/dynapay
- Enter in all your information, plus “Katie Olson” as participant and “The World Race” as program.
- Schedule your donation to end in December (unless you wish to keep supporting Adventures in Missions outreaches).
Donating via check:
- Make out the check to Adventures in Missions
- Write “Appealed by Katie Olson” in the memo line
- Mail the check to PO Box 534470 Atlanta, GA 30353
Donating via credit card or bank draft:
- Visit my blog at KatieOlson.TheWorldRace.org
- Click on “Support Me!”
- Go for it! π
I realize this can be complicated, so please let me walk through this with you–I would love the opportunity to talk with you anyway. π Also, please contact me to let me know if you make a donation so I can send you updates about how God uses your donations this year! Additionally, donations take a few weeks to process, so I won’t know of your donation unless you inform me.
God be with you this year and always!
