How many of you have a daughter? A sister? Mother? Aunt? Niece? Cousin? A friend… That you’ve known all your life, or perhaps are meeting for the very first time, cupping their little head in the palm of your hand. You know, or imagine what their intimate dreams are, their struggles, the challenges they’ve overcome and will face, and what brings them joy. Imagine a world, though, that forces them to put all their dreams to death. Imagine a world that gives them no choice but to sell their bodies just to barely get them by. Imagine some days they make the decision to sell themselves into this slavery, only to receive no pay, but to be beaten in compensation. It’s a vicious cycle- A vicious cycle that is real and happens every day around the world.
Here in the Philippines I’ve had the opportunity to link up with Wipe Every Tear, an organization dedicated to bringing these women, sometimes as young as 15-years-old, off the streets of Manila and into a future they can look forward to living for.
Kenny Sacht, the founder of Wipe Every Tear, is passionate about helping these women start over again. He currently houses young women at Hope House, but soon will not have enough room to take more women in. The next step is to purchase a home by February 15 for $73,000. For this new year, let’s make new beginnings for these women. Would you consider donating $73 (or any amount that you can afford) to Wipe Every Tear?
Please watch this video to learn more about the Dahlia 73 Project. If you’re interested in donating, all you have to do is click the “Donate” tab located in the upper right-hand corner.
If you are currently unable to afford a financial donation, please lift Kenny, these women, and this cause, up in prayers. They need it!!!
