I want to thank you all for your continued prayers, financial support, encouragement and your genuine interest in wanting to know more about my experiences. This race is just as much yours as it is mine! I pray that God blesses you for all of your contribution to my trip.
Since leaving America, my team and I have had the privilege to do so much in Africa. This is just a snapshot of what we have been able to do, as individuals, and as a team:
In Zimbabwe:

My team and I were able to stay at an orphanage in Bulawayo and teach english, math, and science to a group of young boys. These children are currently unable to attend school because of how far they have fallen behind. It was definitely heartbreaking to see because they so desperately want an education. Many times after class was done, several of the boys would stay behind to continue working.

We were also given the opportunity to visit a village in Epworth. When we arrived we spent time in their classroom, played games with the children, helped the women draw water from the wells, and shared the word of God with the community.
In South Africa:
We worked with an organization called POP UP, which provides practical skill training, spiritual guidance and basic needs to impoverished people in Pretoria, South Africa. In order to help them further their mission, our teams were split up according to the needs of POP UP.
Emily and I assisted a teacher, Wilma, who works to strengthen adults’ English comprehension and prepares them for the workforce. We worked 6 hours a day correcting essays, exams, homework, etc. This woman is such a blessing to these students!

April, Emily K., and Raychel (from RedeemIng D.U.S.T.) were on the ministry team. They spent their days teaching discipleship classes about the basics of Christianity, meeting one-on-one with individual learners, and being general support for the ministry staff at POP UP.

Both P31 and RedeemIng D.U.S.T. were able to visit children in the hospital. We prayed over the children, loved on them, and played with the little ones for a few hours each Thursday night.

I was able to share my testimony with a group of young adults who are apart of a program called Metamorpho. These are recent graduates of high school, transitioning into college. During this “gap year” these students work on character development and experience emotional healing, spiritual guidance, responsibility, etc. Russell (our contact in Pretoria) and I were able to share how God has been working in our lives.
As you can see, God has been doing incredible work in and through I Squad. I know that God has many more good works prepared for us. However, I am still in need of financial support in order to continue my journey on the World Race. Currently, I have a remaining $4,103 to raise before December 1. In order to be fully funded, I will need to raise a total of $8,603 by March 1. Please consider donating any amount that you are able to give in order to help me continue on the World Race. In order to donate, all you have to do is click here! Thank you in advance for your generosity! Please also continue to pray for my squad and I!
Love from Pretoria,
Katie
