In Malaysia for our ministry we worked at Desa Amal Jireh, a center for children and senior citizens. Rae and I mostly worked in their office. Every two years the center releases their newsletter with 20,000 copies. We labeled and sorted all of those envelopes. My other teammates helped with the second hand shop used to raise additional support for the center.
The center was only an hour or so outside of Kuala Lumpur so a couple of us went into town every weekend. One of my favorite memories by far is when we were in KL. We were crossing the street and Carly said “Isn’t that Galina?!” We shouted her name and she didn’t turn around at first but then she recognized us. Galina was a guest/friend that we made at the Overflow guesthouse that we worked in a month before in Cambodia! What are the odds that we would run into her not only a month later but on a random side street in the middle of a huge city in a different country! Total God moment and one of my favorite memories from that month.
