So every week we have to fill out these things called C&Cs, which stands for Celebrations and Challenges. Today we just sent out our final ones. It’s a little bitter-sweet. Whenever our team leader reminds us to do them, we all audibly groan. They’re actually super helpful though. They get sent to our team leader, squad leaders and coaches/mentor back in the states. All of them read EVERY SINGLE ONE. I have a lot of respect for them. It’s an easy way to let them know how we’re doing. They are invested in all of us and we can choose to answer the questions or if there’s something huge going on they would rather us erase it all and write about that. So for today’s blog, I decided to repost my C&Cs! Happy reading 🙂
How are you? Where are you at personally?
I’m good. I’m at the point where I’m freaking out that I’m not freaking out if that makes any sense. I’m a little worried about going home given the instability of everything but I’m doing ok. I had a really awesome talk with a girl from the other team tonight. She used the phrase “I have so much respect for you” and that really shocked me. Normally I feel like I’m the one learning from others, or I just don’t observe the impact that I can have so it was really cool to be able to use my testimony to help teach someone else.
What are you going to miss most about the Race?
I am gong to miss a lot of things. Firstly I’m going to miss my team. They’ve grown to be my constant companions and I can go to them for everything. It’s going to be hard to leave Carly and Rae after being with them literally every day for the past 11 months. Secondly I’m going to miss the structure (and the lack of structure?) of the race. The real world is going to be crazy and I’m not sure what to expect. At this point I’m used to the race. Pack up, meet new host, do the ministry, make connections, pack up etc. I’ve been able to find structure in the freedom and chaos that is the world; returning home is where the uncertainty lies.
Anything else you’d like to share with us as this your very last C&C response?
I finished my book goal for the year! I’m pretty excited about that because I suck at finishing things. So not only did I finish 50 books but I also finished my goal! Yay 🙂 Also super pumped to see you (leadership) in 11 days!!!!
