One of the things I love most in this world are handwritten letters/notes/words of encouragement from the people I have had the joy of doing life with. Unfortunately, I’ll be moving around quite a bit in the next year (what?! I had no idea) and will be unable to receive any kind of mail. For someone who loves getting personal mail as much as I do, that is a really huge bummer. But there is something YOU can do!

In the next three weeks, I’ll be finishing preparations for launch the first week of October. During this time I would love if you could write me letters to take on the Race. I’m hoping to leave with a healthy stack dedicated to certain points during the next year. Some occasions could include:

  • Holidays (my birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter, etc.)
  • After a tough ministry day
  • After witnessing my first miracle
  • When I need to hear the truths about who I am and Whose I am
  • Transition times (when I reach the halfway mark, after my first month, on my first plane ride, on my plane ride home, etc.)
  • When I feel homesick
  • When I’m so happy I could die
  • Simple encouragement (scripture, jokes, old memories, etc.)

If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could write a letter for each month I’ll be gone! (For real, though, that’d be pretty cool). I can’t imagine going through the next year without the support of those around me and this could be a way for me to hear from you even in times when I can’t communicate back home.

In order to have the letters in my possession before I leave I’m asking that they be in my hands by September 30th. That way they won’t get left out of all the packing that’ll be going on. You can get them to me through snail mail or by giving them to me in person! If you’re mailing the letters, send them to the address below:

Don’t forget to label the outside of the letter so that I know when to open them and be creative! By no means does the above list include every situation I will encounter so don’t be afraid to step outside of the box.

I am so incredibly thankful for all of the support raised so far and for all of the encouragement I have received from you. There’s no way I could do this on my own.

Love always,

Katie
