LOVE

A very unusual thing happened to me yesterday as I was sifting through my unread emails and felt that I should share. See I am one of those that has almost 100 new emails because I never delete but never read the junk mail either. I scan and say whelp nothing exciting maybe tomorrow! But yesterday left me speechless for about 5 minutes, and if you know me that’s big!! So here it goes, an amazing brother in Christ and a very caring friend’s mother emailed me, whom I have never talked to or met, and asked me “Do you know any of the languages being spoken in the countries you will be ministering to? And How do you “speak Jesus?”

Wow!! What a great question!! Definitely made me think and want to share the answer with all yall!! The simple answer to the first question is absolutely NOT!! Thankfully, the second question has a much more vibrant answer that excites me more than most!!

After my 5 minutes of WOW was over .. the first thing I heard was LOVE!! Another wow came over me, where did that come from?  Obviously like all other aspects of my life God had my back and gave me the true answer needed to share with this woman, and with myself!! I like to make things more complicated than they need to be sometimes and so all my other thoughts before yesterday were so complex and specific, when really it is as simple as LOVE!! The more I thought about it the more excited about all the ways my team and I will be able to communicate and be love to those all over the world!! I may not be well versed in multiple languages but I do know that LOVE is a universal language and no matter where God sends me it will be my primary language!! Below is part of the actual email I replied with:

As for how do you speak Jesus? I believe there are so many ways that Jesus will speak through my team and I, the #1 being LOVE.  Most of the areas we will be going to are considered the slums and the people there are forgotten by their country and do some unthinkable things to provide for their families. We want to show them that they are not forgotten and their Creator and Savior love them and that He has a greater purpose for their life. I also foresee Jesus speaking through us by serving others, emotionally and physically.  There is also technology and translator applications that can be downloaded on my iPod and websites that we can use if there are certain bible verses or specific messages we want to get across to those we meet.

In Exodus 4:10-12, God tells Moses that it doesn't matter if he is slow of speech or tongue because He will be with him and will help him speak and teach him what to say.  And that is the promise I stand on .. That even through language barriers, God will never leave me and will be there to help me. 🙂

B-Squad I cant wait to be LOVE to the world with you!! Be blessed!!

1 Corinthians 13

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
