Land. Acres of Land. Chickens. Goats. Sheep. Maybe throw in some pigs. Then two or more ginormous greenhouses. Solar powered. Where I can grow fresh produce year long in sunny CO.
This is my dream. Deep down is this craving to live off the land. To provide and inspire people to eat healthy and buy locally grown food.
Of course this is a dream for the future. More of just an outline for I know God will fill it in with a beautiful and colorful story. I too except that it may never be a reality for me, or pieces of it could look very different.
Instead of focusing on the dream, I look into my heart to focus on what drives the craving behind it all. A dear friend of mine who happens to be very perceptive pinpointed one of my character traits that explains so much in my life. I have this deep desire to plant seeds in all areas of my life.
No wonder God has guided me to the World Race where I will have opportunity after opportunity to plant seeds. To spread His love and light.
It is no wonder that I love to work with children for they are seeds that with the right roots and enough love grow into something beautiful.
It is also no wonder that one of my favorite parts of fundraising is being able to share my calling. It allows me to plant seeds in hopes that people will follow their own callings.
We each have a purpose, and oh what a beautiful thing when you and those around you know what that purpose is.
The Parable of the Sower
“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Mathew 13:3-8
