Hope: to cherish a desire with anticipation.

Hopes and expectations go hand in hand.

I hope to come home with less than I started (if that's possible).

I hope to put everything on the table and leave nothing behind.

I hope to take advantage of this unique season and soak it in.

I hope that my relationships with friends and family in the U.S. will be grown and strengthened by this process.

I hope to learn how to live out of a single bag well and quickly.

I hope to be a flexible and happy traveler.

I hope that I will be fully funded by launch (don't you want to help make that happen?!).

I hope to see people differently.

I hope that I will choose bravery in the face of any fear.

I hope that I will be worthy of the name of Jesus.

I hope that I will be faithful to any donors in this process and make them proud to be a part of this journey.

I sure hope that I love sleeping in a tent.

I hope that I never see any scary critters in bed with me (then you will most assuredly not see me choose bravery).

I hope to learn how to love when I'm tired and at the end of my rope.

I hope to offer grace to myself and others when we fail.

I hope that people will continue to amuse me by reading my blog.  (Thank you even now for those of you who are already displaying such faithfulness.)

I hope to be spiritually refreshed.

I hope to come home absolutely, physically exhausted.

And I can't wait.

"… knowing that tribulation brings about perserverance; and perserverance proven character; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
Romans 5:3-5
