I consider myself fairly new in the Christian realm. I am constantly learning about the dynamics of church and the roles people play and the complexities of being a Christian in this crazy world.
However, as I continue to learn as ‘the race’ goes on that is that no one is perfect, we all make mistakes- constantly learning what the word Grace actually looks like- amazing isn’t it (?) .  Sometimes the Lord requires us to make some drastic decisions, some gut wrenching moves, and some illogical steps in our journey towards FREEDOM.  For instance, we were to hold a church-like service at the ISibania Police Station in Kenya- highly intimidating- I FELT CALLED TO SPEAK.  I prayed/ meditated about what the Lord wanted me to say/speak to them… Choose justice. Free the Oppressed? What Lord please send me with many words of wisdom and knowledge so that they can be the Light unto their community.
Do you know what He gave me? Think HARD… He told me to read Isaiah from the start…Chapter one. Yep that’s right.  So Tuesday morning I got up 5:30 AM to be at Police Station at 7, to read, (well some,) scripture of the book, Isaiah.   So I was standing there and I was like Lord this is crazy, 89% of the officers don’t even have their Bible. I said, Lord what is the point?  They won’t even be able to read along but He said do you not trust me, even with this small matter? So I stepped up in front of them and began.. I am almost 100% positive they thought I was crazy. It went well.
It is hard to describe in words what happened but long story short, the Holy Spirit showed up, as always, and fell heavy on the room of machined up men and combat boots and intimidating guns.   I closed with ‘Choose Justice, Fight for the Oppressed’ as stated in Isaiah 1:17.. They called Pastor Abraham (our ministry contact this month; he is a wonderful man) and thanked him for coming and bringing words from the Lord. I felt very blessed to be a part of this wonderful experience.  My faith in God is ever increasing; praise be to Him- our Father whom art in Heaven hallowed me thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.
Choosing God’s will is so much sweeter than receiving any sort of praise from man or lack thereof.  May we always keep our sights’ set on Christ who is our Protector and Comforter; our Lover and Friend.
Isaiah 60:1
Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see.  For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you.
May we never loose our light from the Lord.
