Men have failed her.  Men told her over and over again to do better… to not disappoint… to be strong…

She listened for a while and judged herself lacking… She must be strong…

But strength at times evaded her… at times tears would fall, bruises would appear, life would hurl punches that could knock giants to their knees… And on those knees she found the strength she sought.

On her knees she felt the strong arms of a Lover…Father…Teacher… Shepherd… Friend embracing her… putting back together the pieces of her heart torn apart by expectation.

Under the powerful raging torrents of falling water her steady soul stood.  Flanked by two men of God’s peace she outwardly dedicated again her life to the maker and lover of her being.

As the gentle strength of the pastors lowered her into the swirling waters expectation fell away once more.

Out of the water came a new creation… A new daughter of grace.

The world rages around us like a waterfall desiring us to be caught in it’s swirling current.  Easily one could be swept away, but hold tightly to hands of your brothers and stay tightly rooted in the word of God.  Together we will weather this journey and He will see us safely home.

“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.”

~Psalm 118:14

All for now through the eyes of a storyteller…

Emily Gates was baptized by Pastor Charles and Pastor Ebenezer under a waterfall in Ghana on September 28, 2016.  Gorgeous is the only word to describe the peace overpowering the rage of the waterfall as she stood there before the Lord.
