I still can’t get used to this. If you read my previous post, “Lilies & Sparrows” you know I’ve been seeing God’s provision lately.
This past week… overabundance is an understatement. Right now, I’m standing in my kitchen surrounded by about 30 cupcakes, 2 plates of scotcharoos, a pan of brownies and about four dozen cookies: the snack setup for the benefit concert tonight. My friends have helped me put together a three-band outdoor celebration to raise money for the World Race and it’s become a pretty big event. I’m believing for something big…
…and with that still six hours away, I’m already overwhelmed. This morning, we did a pancake feed for the group of 8 going to East Asia with FOCUS. They leave in just one week, and once again we had a great turnout and a lot of fun. But in the middle of breakfast, up to my elbows in pancake batter, a friend handed me an envelope. This is the first time I’ve ever received an anonymous donation, and it was easily four times what I had been hoping to raise at the concert tonight.
I’m just laughing. I’ve been laughing for the past four hours. I’ll probably keep laughing through the afternoon, hopefully not during our set, but after that it’ll probably continue.
Our community here is the most genuine love I’ve ever known. They share and help and give and give and give. It seeps out into the world, and we
are
changing
things.
