So far, I’ve loved getting to know my fellow racers a bit. One of the best ways I’ve found to get to know a person is simple: their music.

Some CDs are already being mailed around among team members, and I love that! It inspired me to share this with you, as a more accessible way to know me and what inspires my heart to worship. This is from my journal during the summer of 2006, and the music that accompanied the writing.

The night that I made this playlist, the sky was so clear.  I couldn’t stop staring at it. In fact, I
enjoyed the sky and stars so much that I grabbed my pillow and
comforter and slept outside.  It bothered me that this thing is
here
every night and we always miss it.

Of course, sleep comes
slowly on a bed of solid wood.  So I did some more staring.  And I saw
movement.  The occasional airplane passed over, satellites were all
over the place, the sky itself, of course, was moving unnoticed, and I
even saw a few shooting stars.  So this stargazing became not so much
gazing as searching the sky for movement.  It wa so tranquil, and
made my brain go to some weird places.

But mostly my thoughts
rested on this single idea of looking up and waiting for something.
Living like that could be pretty exciting.

Consider this an open invitation to share your music that, in some way, defines you. And yeah. Look up.
