Its been awhile. . .I know!
So today I went to visit my cardiologist. . .don’t worry I am all good!. . . he asked me how I was doing and said he had heard about my trip. I explained to him what all I would be doing the next year and he said that sounds fun, but be careful there are a lot of bad people out there. As he finished up and walked out the door he said it again. Just watch out there are a lot of bad people out there.
Are you serious? Was this supposed to scare me? Was I supposed to start reconsidering the world race because of “a lot of bad people”?
Absolutely Not! He actually just made that burning desire to go on the world race even stronger for me! To prove to this man that there are A LOT of GOOD . . . no GREAT people out there. There are people doing incredible beautiful things out there right now! There are people who have given up everything to help others. There are people who give the little that they can to help others! I have friends and family that have generously donated to my trip. Friends that I know don’t have jobs right now or are giving up buying something they really wanted in order to support me and this ministry. I know dozens of amazing people that I am going to meet this weekend who are happy and willing to abandon everything comfortable, give up their jobs, cars, apartments, favorite meals, family and friends to go on this amazing adventure and serve the Lord. To abandon everything so that they may further His kingdom even more. So that they may become the least of these and be broken in order to share with the broken. To live as the poor, widowed, hungry, naked live. I am one of those people. I am a great person because I am a daughter of the Lord! I am His and He is mine and He has made me beautiful! He has planted seeds in my heart that will grow to spread incredible fruit and He has given me the ability to serve. To humble myself, to be broken and be the least of these. To serve Him with all my heart, soul and mind and to LOVE to LOVE like I have never loved before. Oh I can’t wait to Love on people. For Love to “be my words” as Bryan says. We serve such a Awesome God who loves us in everything we do and we are. In all of our messes and mistakes and successes. He inspires this good in all of us. We just have to listen for it and act on it. We have to live each day bringing heaven to earth. I am willing!
So I say to you sir. . .there are plenty of good people out there. . .and I am one of them!
Jen is one of my best friends! She has been unemployed since April and has donated $100 to my trip! What an awesomely good person she is! Love you!A couple numbers for you all just to keep you updated!
Right now I have $3,316 in my account! I also have $2,200 worth of pledges on the way. . .that comes to $5,516 so far!
It wouldn’t be possible without all of you GOOD people out there!! Thank you so much for opening your hearts and joining me in this ministry! I am so excited! I leave for training on Friday! I will definitely have a blog when I get back! Keep checking and spread the news!
An extra thanks to my awesome Uncle Steve and Aunt Tan for letting me borrow all their camping equipment . . .except the titanium spoon. . .I don’t blame him I would have lost it anyways!
