It’s hard to believe this is my last recap on a continent. Central America has been great  I never thought all those Spanish classes would quite come in hand. I’ve enjoyed the latin culture, the fresh fruit and the beautiful country sides.

- Doing ministry with my parents. In Honduras my parents came for a week of ministry. I loved sending them out to do door to door in the neighborhoods of Honduras

- Going to the local fair in La Ceiba, honduras. After witnessing the parade, largest of Central America. I wasn’t to expectant for fun, but our local friends made us play hard, going on the craziest of rides and boy was I wrong.

- praying walking in Candilaria. While in Nicaragua we got the opportunity to pray for the sick and hear their stories. It was amazing to see day after day the faith they had over Gods healing hand.

- Cooking with Lucia- although we cooked for ourselves, we shared the kitchen with a local who loved telling us the American way was the wrong way to cook. We became friends through my broken Spanish and she taught me how to make Gallo Pinto, the traditional dish.

- Tutoring Rosita- in Nicaragua we worked with an org that is a sponsoring program and tutoring center. One morning I got to tutor Rosita and I can’t tell you how big her smile was when she came to tell me her results of her quiz!

- Sunday school in the next door village- in Nicaragua, as a team we walked the streets to gather children and play and share stories of the Bible. These kids were kind, considerate of their little siblings and shared in delight with us being with them.

- This month we got to be English teachers at school for the day. Which normally takes 1 teacher took a team of 7 of us to sing, dance, illustrate the creation story and have a tenth of te energy the kids have.

- Revamping the library- the local library got an facelift. As a team we organized books to genres and color coded all children books. We read more titles than words in a book but to see the transformation was a delight.

- Being Hosted! This month we were taken in by our church. It was incredible to be given a hot meal and to fellowship with the local missionaries of Jaco. Although this is town of drinking and prositutes, we’ve gotten to see the light the church has brought in and the Radical growth that is happening.

- Surfing! Our host is a fantastic surfer and graciously took 14 new b’a out to get pummbled by waves. She took us on early morning adventures to get surfing in before ministry and continues to encourage us in many facets of our month.

- Sleeping… Last month I was in a tent and this month I got to sleep in my hammock. Although it’s not ideal, waking up and having a pig right outside your tent door is quite the memory. And having a front seat view to watching the lightening show night after night is a spectacular view. I’m packing up my hammock today.. And that’s quite alright.

Welp, that’s a wrap! 11 memorable moments from Central America. Now I’m off to pack for our last move, to go to final debrief. Thanks for staying tune with this journey!
