It’s a big day! After months and months of putting this off, for two reasons; one, because I have a ton of videos to filter through, and two, because I knew it would be emotional for me… I HAVE FINISHED a video of ALL my travels during my time with The World Race. Both as a participate and as a leader. I edited each clip with tear filled eyes thinking back to every continents’ air I’ve tasted, all the while, my spirit tenderly whispering, “But where you are at is good.”
I read a blog the other day by Sarah Baker and she talked about the season of life when your GO becomes STAY. I’m there. For years, I have been passionate about GOING and EXPERIENCING the world. Now, I am in a season where I feel called to STAY. Stay is now my new adventure, and I am reminded that no matter the season, the memories and the people I’ve met will always have value. They shaped me into who I am now. Those travels were where dreams were born and fulfilled.
I love this season, but I want this video to honor my previous season. I what it to inspire people to GO and to remind people who are STAYING that they too are strong – that both have a purpose.
To every person who supported me, sent me emails, commented on my blog, prayed for me, asked me details about my trips, and who bought one of my World Race shirts last year – I humbly say, thank you. Which honestly, never feels like enough.
A special thank you to my family for always believing in me and not trying to force me into a box that I didn’t fit in. I pray that every person can have a family that allows and encourages them to have their own unique American Dream.
