The Lord has showed me His goodness, His love, His provision, His strength, His endurance, His joy, and His blessings in these first two weeks away from home. My arms are open wide embracing the Lord’s hug. I want more. I want more. I want more of You Lord.
My team and I felt very unprepared and uneducated the first week of teaching kids english at Wat Tri School. I have always said I would never teach a day in my life. The Lord threw back his head, chuckled, and said yes you are. As this second week of teaching comes to an end I am full of confidence and compassion towards my classes. I now know the love the Lord has for His children. My heart has reached its compacity on the love these kids have given me. They have filled the holes that were empty. The amount of hand shakes, hugs, walking hand in hand, and being called Teacher will never get old in my eyes. The amount of times I sing Father Abraham, and Head-Shoulders-Knees-and Toes will never get old to me nor the kids. I thought I would be changing lives but the Lord is using these kids to change mine.
I love being surrounded by a communtiy who has the same desires as my heart. My team is better than I could of asked for. They encourage me, cry when I cry, struggle in my struggles, and most of all, love me for who I am. I just want to say, thank you God.
For those who have known me for the majority of my life, know i have a shell. It’s where my safe zone is. It’s where I hide when I don’t want to be bold. It’s where I find myself the most. Tonight. That shell cracked. It fell to the cold, hard, cement floor, broke to a thousand pieces, and was swept away. The burden of that shell was lifted off my heart and now I can take a deep breath.
The song Take A Moment, by Will Reagan and United Pursuit has been my anthem this week. I am including the lyrics for you to read.
Take a moment to remember
Who God is and who I am
There You go lifting my load again
Take a moment to remember
Who God is and who I am
There You go lifting my load again
Take a moment to remember
Who God is and who I am
There You go lifting my load again
No longer am I held by
The yoke of this world
Come up under the yoke of Jesus
His yoke is easy and His burden is so light
His burden is so light
You’re lifting my load
You’re lifting my load
No longer am I held by
The yoke of this world
Come up under the yoke of Jesus
His yoke is easy and His burden is so light
Your love carries
Your love carries me
Out of valleys and the darkest places
