Nothing can defeat our choice to be grateful.

Today I cupped a little girl's face in my hands and could feel her giggle in my fingers.

Yesterday I got to eat CHEESE!

Today I watched 40 kids and teachers have a blast making glasses out of pipe cleaners.

Last night I fell asleep to candle light in my tent with the Kenyan rain pouring down and God’s joy in my heart.

Sunday at church I heard the testimony of a once abandoned street kid who is now studying mechanical engineering because of ONE woman’s obedience to our Lord.

This morning we went for a run alongside the cornfields as kids joined us on their way to school.

Last weekend we hosted the mini-Olympics for 120 street kids who cared little about winning and a lot about laughing.

This year I’ve received SO much support and encouragement through emails and such from people I love and people who love the Lord.

There is so much to be thankful for. Too often I forget that. I pray that when my squad returns home, I will still pay attention to the SIMPLE ways that God blesses us.

Today YOU will have a hot shower, walk into a building with AC, you will eat whatever meal you choose, be able to pick up the phone and say something kind to whom ever you please, you’ll pick how many pillows you want to sleep with in your bed, drink water from the faucet, and probably will avoid public transportation by driving in your own car.  Be thankful to God for these things! And when I am home, continue reminding me that I am thankful for them too.

Be joyful always; pray continually;
give THANKS in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
